Mark Edward Kelly, born in 1964, is a retired NASA astronaut, Navy combat pilot, and gun control advocate elected to the U.S. Senate from Arizona in 2020 and reelected in 2022. The husband of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot in a 2011 assassination attempt, Kelly is a compelling national security and swing-state Democrat.
