Biography
James David Vance, born in 1984 in Middletown, Ohio, rose from a hardscrabble Appalachian upbringing documented in his bestselling memoir Hillbilly Elegy to become one of the most powerful politicians in America. A Yale Law School graduate and former venture capital investor, Vance served as U.S. Senator from Ohio before being selected as Donald Trump's running mate and winning the 2024 election as the 50th Vice President. He is the clear early frontrunner for the 2028 Republican presidential nomination, leading GOP primary polls at 35% as of May 2026.
